Real Intelligence is not Artificial
I don’t know why everybody is surprised that a National Guard IT specialist had access to everything on the unit’s computers. I noticed early in my career that the IT guys in our office got huge Christmas gifts from the partners who spent a little too long on their computers before they went home. Only two people know what they were looking at on their computer: the partner himself and the IT guy responsible for his computer.
What we see on our computer, and who knows what we see on out computer, are two concerns of Elon Musk and many other people who worry about artificial intelligence. Although we can train computers to follow whatever rules we want, and think very clearly in certain situations, they will only follow the rules that they are programmed to follow. For example: a computer deciding what news you get in your feed could be programmed to only allow you to see news that is favorable to the government.
Let me explain why this horse has already left the barn.
